Presentations, Posters & Manuscripts

Manuscript Submission

Full manuscript papers for all accepted oral and poster presentations must be submitted by 31 January 2010.  All presentations will be subject to peer review, and the scientific committee reserves the right to withdraw presented papers from publication in the conference Proceedings in accordance with ICRAV bylaws. Guidelines for manuscripts are available below.

ICRAV Young Scientist Award

To qualify for the ICRAV Young Scientist Award the presenter must be 40 years old or younger at the time of presenting. The award is presented to the winners' Laboratory/Institute to contribute towards sending the same or another young scientist to the next Conference on the condition that the scientist presents. Please indicate when submitting manuscripts if the presenter is eligible.

Oral Presentation Format

Microsoft Powerpoint will be the only computer presentation format accepted. Presentations should be provided to the conference speaker-desk by 5pm on the day prior to presentation – please use a CD Rom or USB data-stick.

The following facilities will be provided
1. Speaker preview room
2. Presentation computer
3. Dataprojector
4. Projection screen
5. Laser pointer
6. Speaker audio – lapel microphone, lectern microphone, computer audio
7. Fixed microphones for questions from the floor.

Poster Format

Posters accepted by the scientific committee may be displayed at the conference in either  A0 portrait format (1189mmH x 841mmW) or  A1 portrait format (841mmH x 594mmW).
Poster display boards will be Velcro receptive and measure 1200mmW x 2300mmH. Please bring your own Velcro adhesive.


Abstract Submission is now closed.

The deadline for abstract receipt (oral papers and posters) was 30 September 2009.

Abstract Format

1. Please state your preference for an oral or poster presentation.
2. Microsoft WORD format.
3. 400 words maximum.
4. All presentations must be written in English.
5. No references or illustrations should be included.
6. The abstract should contain the title, name of author(s) – all correspondence will be directed to the lead author, who should be listed first - and address(es) of the research facility. This information may be in addition to the 400 word maximum.
7. The use of standard abbreviations is encouraged. Please place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word is used for the first time.
8. The abstract should be organized as follows:
    a. purpose and relevance of the study
    b. a brief description of methods if pertinent
    c. a summary of results
    d. a statement of conclusions reached
